Where our exchange-rate inputs and comparison assumptions come from.
SEARateGuide uses a live reference FX rate source plus simplified scenario assumptions (fees, spread/markup, payout method, and payout time) to help users compare remittance routes consistently. These inputs are for comparison and may not match a provider’s live checkout quote, which can change by corridor, amount tier, payment method, verification level, promotions, and timing. Always confirm the final quote and limits on the provider’s official checkout.

FX reference rates
SEARateGuide compare pages use a reference FX-rate source as a baseline input for route estimates. The current public implementation references Exchangerate-API for currency conversion data where available.

Scenario assumptions
Provider fees, spread assumptions, payout methods, and payout-time estimates are modeled scenario inputs. They are used to show how total cost and timing can differ between routes, but they are not a live feed from each provider checkout. We keep the assumptions consistent within a comparison so the ranking is understandable.
Provider information
Provider names, logos, payout-method labels, and public website links are used for comparison and navigation. A provider appearing on SEARateGuide does not mean the provider is available for every amount, country pair, payment method, or verification level. Users should confirm availability on the provider website before sending.
What we do not collect
SEARateGuide does not collect bank account details, recipient identity documents, transfer instructions, or payment card data for money transfers. When users click to a provider, the provider?s own terms, privacy policy, and compliance process apply.
Known limitations
Comparison inputs can be affected by provider promotions, temporary outages, local partner changes, regulatory requirements, bank cut-off times, holidays, wallet maintenance windows, and FX market movement. A displayed estimate should be read as a useful planning signal, not as a guaranteed quote.
How users should verify
Before sending, users should check the provider checkout for the exact transfer fee, exchange rate, final received amount, delivery estimate, recipient method, cancellation policy, and customer-support path. If the provider quote differs from SEARateGuide, the provider checkout should be treated as the source of truth.
Feedback and corrections
If a route, payout method, or explanatory note looks outdated, users can contact SEARateGuide support. We prioritize corrections that affect user safety, pricing interpretation, payout availability, or legal/compliance clarity.
